Goin' to the lodge...

We decided to kind of a mini vacation since we don't have any real vacations planned this year. DH loves water parks, so for his birthday we are going to spend a couple of nights at the Great Wolf Lodge. The first day we'll play in the baby pool and have fun family time, then my mom is going to come pick Maddie up and the next day we can do the bigger slides and stuff.

And my parents are going to keep Maddie for the rest of that week! So the rest of the week will be kind of a "staycation" for me and DH. We'll be able to go see movies, sleep in- I can't wait!

Although I'm already kind of sad thinking about being away from Maddie for that long Crying . It will be so strange! I totally trust my mom though, and she knows Maddie's schedule and everything almost as well as DH does. And they have a p'n'p, high chair. monitor and tons of toys so it won't even be hard to pack for her.

I am curious about it too. We sang that song over and over (because of the non stop commercials) when Jocelyn was in my tummy and told her we would take her if she just would come out, and she did like the next week, so now we keep saying when she is old enough we will take her!! Goin' to the lodge...great wolf lodge. Now it's in my head!!

Too funny after I read "goin' to the lodge", before I even read your post I started singing "great wolf lodge"......Have fun!! Big Smile

And that is awesome your parents are watching Maddie. By the time Will is that age I'd totally trust my in-laws to watch him for a few days and would welcome the "staycation"!

you will have to tell us how it is and how maddie likes it. My FIL decided he wants us to all go in October for his 50th Bday.....cant wait cuz I Love Waterslides!

This is on my list of places to go this fall and I cant decide if we are taking Alex or leaving him with the parents....haha.

And BTW - enjoy your vacation from Maddie - it was rejuvenating when we were on vacay without Alex. Nothing like sleeping in and staying up late and living like you did prebaby. Dont get me wrong - we missed him like crazy, good thing there were pictures of him on my camera because we would sit on the beach and look at pictures of him and laugh at how silly we were. But it was totally worth it for all of us.

That sounds like fun! And I agree, you'll miss Maddie, but it will be SO nice to be on your own for a few days. You'll have to give us a good review, I've been wondering about that place.
