What did you do? Is your toddler in a "big kid" carseat yet? (Like, one that's FF and will convert into a booster eventually?)
DS will be 16 months when the baby comes. We never had a travel system or infant seat with DS, we just used a rear-facing convertible seat from the beginning. Now we are trying to decide if we should move him up and put the baby in his seat, or if we should get an infant seat to buy him a few more months in the Roundabout.
Or if we should just buy a second Roundabout for the new baby and keep them both in there until they reach the maximum weight.
Re: Car seats: What did you do?
This, but we have the Marathon. DS will move into the Graco Nautilus when the new baby is ready to move into the convertible. DS moved early at 4 months b/c he loathed his infant seat.
I would recommend an infant carrier for #2.
Holding the toddler's hand and carrying the baby in your arms to get in and out of places might have you juggling a bit too much.
An infant carrier might help make the baby more portable.
It was much faster for me to toss the infant carrier into the base and quickly snap it in with one hand while holding the toddler's hand than it would have been to have to mind where the toddler was while trying to strap the baby into the car with both hands.
Did that make any sense?
