I rec a pedi but since our office doesn't do them we went to Claire's. They are just little diamond studs. I'm not sure how they compare to grown up posts but they do fit her ears perfect. I got T's done at 9 months & I will do the same with E. It's not hard to take care of them(earrings) at this age since you are already cleaning their ears after baths anyway. I never had a problem with her grabbing at them either.
what is the point of piercing your child's ears at that age? i'm not flaming, just an honest to goodness question.
For us, its kinda a family tradition. My mom had them done before one. I had mine done at 10 months. I never knew it was a debatable topic before the bump. When I got T's done, I loved how they looked. I don't regret doing it. I do have a cousin who got them done at age 5 & they made it her own special trip, etc. That's cute to do too. I don't think there is a wrong age to do it.

i've been back and forth on the subject actually. My first plan was to wait till she was old enough to ask fot it. Then came rec's from friends w/daughters who told me to get it out of the way early! Some have said that when they're older, they are more likely to get infected b/c they dont want to clean them properly each day, as well as that they get long hair tangled around the posts when they turn them. I can see how this could turn into a problem! One friend's dd has had to let them close and got them re-pierced 3 times b/c she kept getting infected and that was from age 6-9.

We got DD's ears pierced at 3 months...just like I did. We also went to Claire's and got the smallest diamond stud they have. I went with the 14k white gold post because I am allergic to fake earrings and I was afraid she would be as well. We have not had any problems with hers and I think she looks really cute!
My neice had hers done at 2 years and it was horrible! She would not leave them alone and they stayed infected. She kept pulling them out and would fight to the death to put them back in!
Allie ~ 01/26/09 ~ 7 lbs, 9 oz ~ 20.75 in.
& Amelia ~ 03/16/11 ~ 8 lbs, 1 oz ~ 21 in.
We are planning on getting DD's ears pierced too. In some cultures, like mine( Portuguese/Italian) it is normal to have it done young. I was 3 months old when mine were done.
Re: ? for those who got dd's ears pierced
