What classes are your DC enrolled in?

My DD is just one but we are thinking of enrolling her in a music class and I would like to also do a swimming class.  Is your child enrolled in any classes that you really like?  I would love to hear about the class.

Thanks!

  • Ridge does swimming and loves it.

We use to do Gymboree until he was about 19 months old.  He liked it but started not wanting to participate in the activities and just wanted to climb around on stuff.  I figured for $70 a month we could go to the park instead and climb.  I'll probably do it again with #2 though.

He use to take tumbling at Suzuki before it closed and loved, loved, loved it.

  • At that age, Audrey did The Music Class. I think we did four different sessions throughout her first 3 years. She sort of just sat there when she was one but really loved it and got into the singing and dancing later on. Poor Ethan has been totally ripped off and I'm not doing anything much with him on  that front. We do swim lessons - I highly recommend finding a survival swimming instructor. I'm amazed at what my kids can do after onlly 3 weeks of lessons (5 days a week for 10 minutes). Audrey is also doing gymnastics and loves it and is going to Fairy dance camp later in the summer.
  • DD does Little Gym, The Music Class, and swimming lessons with Aqua-Tots. Although, the swimming lessons finish up this week.  DD is with our nanny all day, so we do the classes because a. they are totally fun and she loves them and b. the social interaction with other children.  DD loves little gym and can do so many cool thing that she's learned there.  Although, I have heard that some little ones just aren't interested.  The Music Class is great!  They sing songs, dance, and play instruments.  I was somewhat skeptical of it at first, but it really is a lot of fun and teachs rhythm and hand-eye coordination skills.  Both of those offer a free trial/observation class, so you and your LO can try them out to see what you like. Definitely take advantage of that before signing up.

  • We go to My Gym right now and he absolutely loves it.  I'm looking at possibly doing some sort of music class at some point in the fall or probably winter and I really wanted to get him signed up for swimming lessons this summer but it never happened.
  • Thanks all.  I looked at The Little Gym but it's a little more than I thought.  The fall semester is 19 weeks and is $323 plus $50 membership fee (which works for the year), so $19.63 a class if you go once a week for 19 weeks.

I am going to look into My Gym and also The Music Class.  Thank you all for your suggestions!
