Matthew is only 6 weeks old, but I've got total cabin fever. Since it's a million degrees outside, I know I'm limited to what we can do but give me ideas here! I'm enjoying every minute with my son, but it's a bit boring staying home everyday!
You have to get out - it's so hard to sit at home all the time with a newborn. Take him to Publix or Target or the mall - anywhere just to get out for a little while. Or have someone watch him so what you can get out for a little while. I remember going out almost every night once DH got home - even if it was just Publix to get a couple things, it was so nice just to be out alone for even a few minutes!
Matthew is ADORABLE! Congrats! Mall, movies, bookstore,...THIS is the time since he is sleeping all the time. Get a good carrier (hotsling, ergo, whatever you like) and GO OUT! I miss those days!

yes!! this is the time where they're sleeping between feedings... it's sooo easy to go out!! go to target, barnes and noble... ooh! or after you've fed him, maybe take him to a restaurant, take a book, and just sit and relax while he sleeps in the car seat next to you. I did that with Abby once and it was sooo nice!!
Thank you! I can't believe he's 6 weeks already. He found his hands today and was sucking his thumb! Time really flies!
I think I might catch Harry Potter in the morning!
i know a lot of girls on this board have taken their lo's to the movies already, but just remember that harry pottery is going to be really loud! especially thids one... a lot of screaming and scary noises going on... if he can sleep through it, great, but make sure he won't get too startled by all the noises!
He is beautiful! Congrats:) I agree that you should definitely get out. Maybe when the sun goes down?? Idk, I feel bad taking Abraham out with me because it's so hot but I stayed home for a whole month, I can't do it anymore! I just don't hang out outside or anything (it is too hot), but I do take him to Target, dinner, etc.
I've gone to the mall, target, and out to eat. But is rough during the day when DH is not home. I really do get bored. Feeding is easy because I'm pretty good at nursing in public.
I think tomorrow we'll head to Barnes and Nobles instead. DH "will not" let me see Harry Potter without him!!
I went to see King Kong when Sebastian was 3 weeks and saw Sex and the City when Nate was an infant too...both long and loud movies! they did fine! Have your hubby play hookie and go with him!
I used to be able to shop for hours when Zoe was that little! I would read books and magazines in bookstores, walk the malls, Target, TJ Maxx, go out for coffee... If you are looking for other mommies to talk to, check out Meetup.com for local mommies and activities going on around you. This is really the easiest time you will ever have being out and about with him!!! I wish I would have appreciated it more, now I'm lucky if she sits in the stroller for 10 minutes before she wants to get out and walk around!

they didn't cry or shriek or anything?? abby would definitely not sit still through a movie. she even hates watching tv!!

The Proposal was fabulous and I'm sure your dh won't mind if he misses that one! Mine didn't! Nadia has been to the movie theater a total of 5 times and loves it!
When Nadia was that small- I'd go to Starbucks order myself a coffee, sit and feed her. Those are nice memories! ;-) I spent lots
I was going to say I spent lots of time walking around Target, and BRU during the day. After she got her 2 months shots my life resumed and I was EVERYWHERE! ;-) For some reason those shots gave me a sense of security.
We also started Gymboree at about 6 weeks. We're still doing that- it's one of our fave activities.

nope, but they were oung. I wqould never take an 8 month old to a movie...well, I tried once with Dawn shortly after Noah was born but Sebastian could not sit still!
