I have mastitis

and its AWFUL!! I cant believe how much it hurts. Thank god the sick feeling is gone bc yesterday I thought I was going to pass out. My boob is red, hot & it feels like someone cut the nipple off AND set my whole boob on fire...awesome. Worst part is that I still have to pump from the breast and every time it sucks my nipple in it feels like needles. And baby has something called "prickly heat" which apparently is common and harmless but Ive never heard of it (just looks like a bumpy light red rash all over her head, face, arms, chest and back) thanks for checking out my vent

    I'm so sorry!  That sounds terrible.  What do they give you for mastitis?  Antibiotics or something?

    ya, antibiotics. thankfully they didnt make me come in to poke and prod my poor boob

    Oh that sounds awful. I hope you feel better. DD had prickly heat when she was a week old. It came from being too hot when we swaddled.  We kept her unswaddled and in cool onesies and shes good to go now.
