Would u like this for a shower gift?

Hey all.. I got this gift today for my friends baby shower. I plan to put some books, toys, and other stuff in it.. Would you like it for your child? I got the primary color casue she is having a boy and out his name on it.. let me know!

    To be honest, I would much rather get something off the registry that was half the price.  That is a nice gift but it is so big.  I couldn't imagine that everyone would have room for it.  If she does, then I'm sure she would love it.  It is a wonderful, thoughtful gift!

    I think that is a great gift.  I would love to receive it as a gift.  I think that putting some books in it is a great idea as well (but unnecessary as it is already the price that I would assume is good for a shower gift - maybe even a little high).

    they are my really good friends.. I bought 100 childrens books on craigs list for $25 so i ws going to use those.. She has the room..

    I love it, but it wouldn't work for us because our place is really small.  I think it's a bit dangerous to get a present so big, like furniture, because you don't know their tastes.

    I do love it though.

    For a close friend who you know has the space, it's an awesome present and will get used a lot!  Anyone other than that, I'd stick to the registry.  People register for a reason and usually have "needed" things that they are hoping to get at a shower....

    Jumping in here..I think it's an amazing idea for a gift.  I saw that you are going to put books with it too.  Maybe in one of the books, you could write a note to their DS.  I always love when people write little messages that DS will see as he grows.

    Would *I* like it? No, 'cuz I don't have the room or the need. However, if she does, then I think it's an awesome gift. Very different, yet practical and personal.

    If we didn't already have the children's bookshelf DH's Dad made him when he was little, I would ADORE that, and to put children's books in it is really great.  I have been talking about how badly we need children's books for months, and I really hope that we either get some for our shower or even a gift certificate to a bookstore.  Great gift!

    It's AWESOME! You're a great friend to buy something so special. I've never seen this before, but I love it! It would be so easy to clean out when crumbs and cookies get stuck in the shelves..Just turn those suckers inside out, shake a bit, and you're golden. I think it's wonderful!

    Do you know if it will match the baby's room? Or if they have room for it elsewhere? I think furniture items are a bit of gamble; I'm picky about decor, and it's not like you can return something with the kids name on it.

    Unless it was somthing that you hand made yourself like a blanket or somthing I rather receive somthing that I REALLY need off of my registry.
