had a c-seciton first time and while i am really scared of vbac, i would really like to try. my recovery was so easy with c-section - i am just so scared of doing it the other way. reassure me!
I've had super easy recoveries. With DS I was up and walking down the hall to my post-partum room within the first couple of hours after birth. I had no tears or anything. I felt basically completely normal right away after he came out, was able to nurse right away. WIth DD I had a small tear but it was more itchy than painful.
I'm terrified of a c/s so I guess the grass is always greener LOL.
I agree. I don't want my husband to being throwing a hotdog down the hallway. My vag is very sensitive and I feel that I will be messed up for life.. I want everything to stay the way it is! We have a great sex life and I don't want it to change. The recovery of vaginal for me sounds worse. I 've had other surgeries before that left small scars and I'm not afraid of the healing process. Needles, blood, tubes.. bring it on. I'm having a c-sec.
I haven't yet given birth so I can't give you "my experience", but I have been reading two very great books about vaginal delivery that might set your mind at ease a bit. "Childbirth Without Fear" by Grantly D!ck-Read and "Husband-Coached Childbirth" by Dr. Bradley. I was really really scared of the idea of vaginal birth too, but reading these books has really really helped me. My trepidation is all but gone now!
Really a vaginal birth isn't all that bad. The recovery is only uncomfortable for a couple of weeks. Just get some Tucks pads and Dermoplast (the blue can, not the red one). I had a 2nd degree tear, and it healed just fine. And don't worry about feeling like the Grand Canyon afterwords. If anything, I feel a little tighter now...sorry, TMI. But sex was not the most comfortable thing the first time back.

I'm really scared about the contractions. I have a hard time with menstral cramps and RLP's. If I can't handle those very well, how the hell am I going to make it through labor?
