3rd Trimester

What No One Told Me About Post Delivery (TMI ??)

Was that I would want a stool softner.

Just wanted to share this tidbit while I was thinking about it.

I was absolutely miserable for the first day after delivery and my aunt (a RN) told me to ask for one which made life a whole lot better.

I also bought some on the way home from the hospital and have only stopped using them within the past few days.

Just wanted to share this...

  • II have heard the same thing on here.
  • Loading the player...
  • Stool softener, Tucks, a peri bottle, and that numbing spray...the saving graces for post-partum girlie bits.
  • were you on the tri boards at all? i think ive seen people say you will need that about a million times
  • Thankfully for this board I've seen that recommended a million times. I've already got some in my hospital bag!
  • I was on the tri boards but mainly at night (if that makes a difference)

I'm glad so many ppl already know this but after going 2 days without I dont think that it can be stressed enough

  • My hospital sent me home with a bottle.
  • Yes, luckily a friend at work clued me in to this one a month or two ago.  I also bought peach nectar juice, which is supposed to get things moving.  (Because it's so concentrated.)  You could probably also try prune juice, prunes, or just eating a ton of fresh fruit.

All I'm missing is numbing spray.  Does it have a name?  Stick out tongue

Dermaplast or something like that at least.  It is a wonderful thing.  My hospital gave me a can.

I am on the tri boards quite a bit and have even read many hospital bag lists and never saw this.. glad I read the post. I am only on sporadically at night or during the day and don't get to catch up on all the pages - so thanks for posting.
