s/o mother or MIL advice--anyone else do this?

Did anyone else give you cooky advice?

My grandpa told me to give DS warm water if he woke up to eat in the middle of the night. He said if they do that and you give them water, they'll realize it's not worth waking up for and they'll STTN.

He said this when we stoped at their house on the way home from the hospital!

  • People are always giving us crazy advice.  That's when we nod, smile and walk away.

  • my mom said she gave my brother water in the middle of the night b/c the dr told her to b/c my brother was getting too fat from all the formula feedings every time he woke up
  • My MIL constantly gives me wierd/bad advice.  She has told me that I should let DD CIO from the day she was born and that I shouldn't say goodbye to her when I leave her at daycare because it is going to start a bad habit (?).  She also told me that DD should be sleeping through the night by the second night in the hospital.
