Sneaking over from TTTC here - I posted a rant there last night about my parents (militantly unsupportive of our pursuing IF treatments, and often seem to have some negative comment to make when someone's pregnant), and figured I'd run this by you ladies.
For those of you whose families were completely against the idea of your having kids through IF treatments (or even having kids period), did they have a change of heart after you announced your BFP or after your children were born?
Growing up, my siblings and I were very close to our grandparents, and it really saddens me to think that my parents might reject my children when they're born because they disagree with how they were brought into this world.
Anyone have an experience like this?
Re: "Invader" with question
My IL's were very clear when DH and I got married that they were not interested in being grandparents. Therefore when DH and I had issues TTTC and were persuing IVF we did not tell them about it, to this day they do not know.
Heres the kicker though......they are doting Gradparents who love DS like crazy, seriously they cannot stop bragging about him to everyone they come into contact with!!
Can't really speak for my parents my whole side of the family with the exception of my father is crazy. My dad loves DS but I wouldn't say he is doting. But he does enjoy being with him when he visits.
Weird - my mom had a similar stance. Did you ever ask them what caused their change of heart?
