Babies: 0 - 3 Months

3-4 month bottle feeders...

how many ounces is your LO eating and how often? i EP and my LO is eating 4.5oz every 3 hours. my mom says he should be eating around 6? ive tried giving him more to see if maybe he would stretch to 4 hours, but he always stops at 4.5

Re: 3-4 month bottle feeders...

  • DD eats between 4.5 - 5 oz every three hours. As long as LO is gaining weight and is having sufficient wet diapers, you're fine. No need to force feed your baby.

  • DS will be 3 months next Tuesday, and he has been eating about 6 oz every 3 hours since he was 6 weeks. Sometimes he can eat 8 oz even. He's a porker.

  • DS isn't quite 2 months and is up to 5 oz. every 3 hours or so.  Each baby is different, like PP said, as long as they are gaining weight and have enough wet diapers you are fine.  Smile
  • yeah, he's 17 pounds-90 percentile, so the weight is definitely ok. :)
  • DD BF most of the time, but when she does take a bottle it is usually only 3 to 4 oz. But, she also still eats every two hours during the day. She STTN.

  • DS takes 5-6 oz every 4-6 hours.  Don't force feed your LO.  Let him eat what he wants.

  • I heard some place LO should be eating 30 oz per day by 15 LBS.

If your LO is healthy then your fine.

  • She takes 3 ounces every 2.5-3.5 hours, sometimes up to 5 ounces.

  • Mine actually decided last weekend that he only wanted to eat 1.5-2oz every 3 hours or so! This is coming from a kid who ate 4-5oz every 2 hours! This is less than what he ate as a nb. Went to the pedi and they ruled out pretty much anything that could be wrong. They said sometimes babies do this and as long as they don't have a fever, barfing, etc, to just leave him be
