How do you heat up formula in Playtex drop-ins? I got some the other day and I boiled the bottles first to sterilize (I know, not even necessary, I did it out of habit) and they MELTED! Erg.
I have the First Years Day & Night Warmer, but I think they'd melt in there? What do you all do?
Re: Uber pissed re: Playtex Drop In Bottles
Well, I FF and he takes bottles at room temp. So I mix to order LOL
I have a formula dispenser that I use at night--I just bring bottles w/the right amount of water in them upstairs at night and mix as he needs them. During the day, I just mix on demand.
If I happen to have a cold bottle, I just drop it in a cup of hot water for 5 minutes or so.
It says right on the plastic bottle part NOT to boil it OR microwave it.
With that, you can heat it in a cup of super warm water (I microwave water in a pyrex measuring cup for 1 min) then place the already made bottle into the warm water
I also use a small crock pot that I keep plugged in unless we aren't home (It is the Little Dipper)
My DS takes a room temp. bottle now, but when I was heating them up I would warm water on the stove and stick the bottle in the water for 3-4 minutes and that was fine. The stove was off when I put the bottle in the pot. Hope this helps..
We use the first years warmer with the drop in's.
Do you have the "designer" bottles? I use less water for those and it works fine. The classic bottle doesn't melt at all.
