How did you find your Ob/Gyn?

I am TTC, and just read a bad review of my current Ob/Gyn. Did you search any internet sites that helped you find the right one?

My OB/GYN turned out to only be a GYN (oops - bad research on my part) so I asked my mom! You can also ask your regular doctor for recommendations. GL!

I had to change when I found out I was PG, my old doctor was not an OB -- I went through my insurance website - it was the easiest way of knowing who would be in network!

Recommended list from my general practitioner, then hearing many of my friends experiences. My OBGYN was highly praised by many friends and co-workers.

I've been going to the same OBGYN since I started going to one...but I'd ask for recommendations from friends and coworkers if you aren't happy with yours. Also remember that reading one bad review does NOT mean that there's anything wrong with that doctor if you like him. Not everyone likes the same style of doctor and some people are just impossible to please no matter what.

Talked to an OB nursing professor (ok, my mom) and asked her opinion on which hospital in the area was best. Based on a long criteria she explained one was far and away the best hospital to deliver at.

My current OB didn't have priv. there and I hated the one hospital she delivered at. So I found the list of insurance approved drs. and cross-referenced that to a list of approved drs. at my hospital.

The hospital has a "nurse advocate" program meaning there's someone there paid to anwer questions, etc. and I basically said, "here's what's important to me in a good OBGYN." and she recommended three drs. including her top pick (my current dr).

I am a nurse in an OB unit at a hospital, so I work with well over a dozen OB physicians and that's how I chose which office and doctor(s) I would be willing to see. I know we have a list of our physicians at our hospital, if you need an OB you can always call the hospital you'd like to deliver at and ask if you can come in and get a list of doctor's with priveleges there. They won't be able to recommend anyone (or shouldn't) but they should be able to give you a list. HTH!!

My normal gyn is actually a registered nurse practitioner... I decided to go with the OB that she normally works with. That decision was based on google searches on the OB along with reviews on pages like yelp.com. Having met her, I like her well enough to stay with her.
