Hey there.  Sorry for not responding earlier to your post.   My desktop here at home was giving my problems so this Computer Dude came over and after 2 hours still could not get it running properly, so he took my hard drive home to finish up ande I have been without internet for nearly 2 days...finally tonight I couldn't take it anymore and got out my 8  year old laptop...

To answer your questions - my 1st u/s was at 5 wks/3 dys and the only thing my RE saw was a gestational sac.  He did not see any yolk sac or fetal pole.  He then said he saw "something else"  possibly a second sac, but it was not clear.  I went back a week later, at 6 wks/3 dys and he saw a complete baby - gest sac, yolk sac, fetal pole and the tiny flickering heartbeat.  He also saw a second gest sac with yolk sac.  I go back on the 24th for a 3 u/s, to see the progress of both.  By then there should be 2 heartbeats, but could also be just one still.  Only time will tell.

At your next u/s you should see more.  It is quite common to only see the ges sac during early ultrasounds.
