I am currently reading Ina May's Guide to Childbirth. I am considering a natural birth and it comes highly recommended. I just started it and it is good, but the birth stories in the beginning are not something I am relating to yet...

I checked What to Expect: The First Year out of the library, and I like it so far. I think I'll probably end up buying it, as a handy reference to have around.

If this is what you're looking into, you should also read "Pushed". It's more research based than Ina May's, and it's amazing. I am seriously blown away, and wish I had read it earlier (as in 1st tri!).
My sister got me one of the Babywise books. It's called, On Becoming Babywise: Giving your Infant the Gift of Nighttime Sleep. It came highly recommended from a new dad friend of hers. He and his wife followed the advice in this book and had their newborn sleeping thru the night at 6 weeks. Another friend of his had a 8 mo old that was still waking and fussing every few hours thru the night. He gave this friend a copy of the book and they tried it and within 3 weeks the problem sleeper/eater was sleeping thru the night too. It talks about a different kind of feeding philosophy and is very interesting. It's talks about Feeding time, Wakeful/play time and sleep time. I like what I have read so far and will be trying the techniques out with our little one.
