Equate Early Result Pregnancy Test Question

I took a pregnancy test today. I read on peeonastick.com which is no longer up sadly that the earliest time you can test is 19 days past conception. So it is. The test was an equate early result test. Unlike most equates this one doesn't have a pink plus. This is supposed to have a vertical line like so | in teh control window and if you get a | in the result window it means your pregnant. Well when I took the test I saw two faint horizontal lines in the result window so I'm pretty confused. I bought the three pack so maybe in a couple days I'll know. But has this happened to anyone else and were you pregnant or not.

Re: Equate Early Result Pregnancy Test Question

  • 19 days? really? that's really late for most tests.

  • A line is a line - no matter how faint.  No, the result line doesn't have to match the control line for a positive result.

And 19 days past conception?  I've never heard that before.  I got my BFP 11dpo ~ and yes, my result line was extremely faint.  I tested again two days later and the line was slightly darker but still not as dark as the control.

  • I got mine around 10-11 dpo.

I'd try another brand ($ store ones worked for me) to see what type of results you get.

    Best of luck.

  • If you're confused call the help line or get another brand of test. FRER are easy to interpret, I recommend that.
  • So I took another one last night and it had a very faint vertical line that DH didn't see and a horizontal one across the bottom. I'm thinking that the horizontal ones are always there. I took another one with FMU and didn't see anything for a while but I read online about this study of pregnancy tests that recommended FRER as the best and that most tests sucked but did better after 10 minutes. I didn't see anything on this one at 2 but lo and behold I sware I saw what looked to be the correct vertical line at 10 and DH saw it too. We're gonna go get a better test and try a couple days from now just to make sure.
