Go figure, my kid was 21 inches at birth and is now 21 1/2 (this is coming from a 60 inch mother). I was just curious to see if there were any clothing brands that seem longer rather than wider. (Mainly for casual at-home clothes)
I haven't had much luck yet. and don't know about what brands are longer. Our problem is that Kennedy is still very thin but is long at the same time. (she's about 12 pounds and 24.5 inches long.) The size 3-6 months pants fit her for length but end up falling off her waist.
So, I end up putting her in mostly bubble outfits or jumpers and things that don't have a waist and where length isn't an issue. I think it may be more difficult during the winter months though!

I know I'm not a mom, but I'm tall and my nephew is long and skinny, has been since birth. My sister had this problem too and has still yet to find the right clothes (fit wise and he's 3.5 y/o) - she buys him a lot of adjustable waist pants/shorts and elastic worked wonders for him.
GL, if/when I have children I know I will encounter this too - DH is over 6 ft and I'm almost there!!!
I wouldn't stress just yet. Kenley was 10lbs when she was born so I thought she was going to be a monster baby. So not the case. She's long and lean and just wears the next size up in things.
Avery is a tall lean baby (75% for height, 40% weight). I have found that Gymboree, Baby Gap and Old Navy fit long and lean babies - whereas Carter's brand seems to be wider and shorter.
I really struggled with this for a while - I LOVE that its summer right now so that length isn't an issue for shorts, capris and dresses.
I agree with Sarah. Gymboree, Gap, and ON do run long. Otherwise I always had to buy Lyla the next size up. She was in the 90-95% for height for a long time. Now she is in the 75% range.
Thanks for all of the input. I know he may or may not stay like this... he outgrew his newborn clothes lengthwise and we needed to buy him a few things
