When were you able to let baby sleep longer periods at night rather than wake to eat? We currently wake DD every 3 hours to eat. Normally during the day she is awake before it is time to eat but at night we have to wake her. Actually last night we overslept and almost missed a feeding, oops. Instead she got her 11:30 feeding at 12:45. I thought I saw somewhere that most doctors will let you stretch it longer overnight once their due date passes. I guess I am just looking for some light at the end of the tunnel, DH and I are exhausted! Thanks!
Re: Waking Every 3 hours to eat
Good luck!! I have found it is much easier if I go to bed around 9:00, 9:30 and get a couple of quality hours before the maddness begins!
Congrats on brining your LO home.
our pedi wanted us to wake every 4 hrs at night, but we talked about it and decided not to wake the baby. When we woke him up, he was too tired, and wouldn't get a good seal on the bottle and ate like crap. When he woke up, rested, on his own terms, he ate much, much better. We felt like he needed his sleep. Every baby is different, but this worked best for us. Our pedi said that it was OK to do this if he continuned to gain weight. Even with all the reflux and eating issues, he gained weight. Now he sleeps 10 ish hours a night, and he's still doing great.
I think you need to follow your instincts to know what is best for your baby!
I LOVE your new picture!!
Thanks for the info too!
