Blackout curtains! She woke up at 8:30 today instead 6:30! I think we will start trying to put her to bed earlier because 8:30 is a bit late to get up during the week but could be fabulous on weekends.
My mom bought some for my room when I was visiting with DD and my little alarm clock who has never slept past 5:59am was suddenly sleeping until 8:30 every morning we were there. It was heaven
They're great aren't they? Ds's room is like a cave. We have plantation shutters (what you see from the outside of the house) and then they're covered by a blackout shad and blackout curtains

I put these up in Sam's room also and love them. It does come back to bite me though when he is at daycare, much brighter there when he naps and then doesn't nap as well. I have found that at home if I try to leave it open a crack to let some fresh air in he won't fall asleep. They need to be pulled closed all the way. But boy, does he sleep better with them!

Oh yes the best invention ever. My mom told me to buy them a month or two back because DD is a roster and wakes with the sun. They are awesome....granted she still gets up early but at least now its well after the sun is up.
They worked for us for about a week (meaning he woke up at 6:15, which was late for him). Now he's back to waking up at 5 AM. Regardless of bedtime, which is usually 8. SUCKS!

Madura - they are French an only available in a few cities like Boston and NYC in the US.
I ordered DD's from JCPenney's. We also have them in our bedroom and the playroom (because it gets really hot and sunny in there otherwise). I love them!!
Re: I have found the secret to getting DD to sleep longer...
