Re: Do you still use your baby monitor?

  • Yes, we still use it and DS is 16 months old.  Its just nice to be able to hear better when working around the house during nap time. Also, at night we run box fans on in the bedrooms because we live on a busy street so it blocks out the noise.  So we can't hear DS unless it's hysterics, which is rare. We will probably use it til the next one comes along.

  • Absolutely.  I live in a 2 story house that's extremely well insulated and when she cries and I have the tv on I never hear her.  So I still use the monitor religiously.  I figure I'll stop when she's in a toddler bed and can get up and call to me and come out of her room on her own.

  • We still use it.  Her wake up times aren't predictable so it's good to be able to know when she's awake and go in and fetch her.  Or if she wakes up during the night it's good to keep tabs on her in case she's had a nightmare or something.

I haven't really put much thought into when we'll stop but I suppose once she's in a toddler bed and can open doors so is able to come and find us when she wakes up there's really no point to a baby monitor anymore...

Yes we still use ours.  We have a video monitor.  Not sure when we will stop but it probably won't be until she is out of her crib.

  • Yes. We'll probably stop when he gets to middle school :)

  • We still use ours.  We have a 2 story house with thick plaster walls.  At night it is hard to hear anything over the fan in our room so the monitor helps.  I use it during naps to because that is my time to clean, do laundry and nest!
  • Nope... we took it out of her room and put it in the new baby's room about a month ago.   She is really good at STTN and if she DOES cry, I wake up and can hear her (we leave our door open)...

  • We do.  We are upstairs from the rest of the bedrooms, so we wouldn't hear him otherwise.  I plan to use it until he can get up and down the stairs safely himself if he needs us.  However, at that point, DC #2 will be using a monitor.  I like the piece of mind it gives me.  We had a home alarm installed after our house was broken into, but I still like to think I'd hear something first since he is on the ground level.

  • we still use ours and have no plans to stop real soon...we have the video monitor one and i like to see what she's doing w/o her actually seeing me which would = disaster...DD cries when i put her down for a nap and some nights for bedtime so it's reassuring when i could see her in the monitor and know that she is sounds asleep.
