Protective swim diapers for pools?

We are taking our 8 month old swimming in a family pool, where he pooped last time...sigh.  So, I was wondering where I can find these plastic protective pants that go under his swim trunks and OVER his swim diaper, to prevent any possible leakage into the pool.

 Please help!  THANK YOU!

  • If you mean Little Swimmers (or the other brands equivalents), they don't go over a diaper, they are THE diaper.  You can find them anywhere diapers are sold.

It sounds like the swim diaper (little swimmers or equivalent) leaked last time, yes?  You can find plastic pants at any store that sells cloth diapering materials (maybe even BRU or Target, as they do have the old-school gerber CDs).  You might also find them in the potty training section, as a lot of parents put them over traditional training pants. Those might be too big for your LO, though.

If you have time to order online, cottonbabies.com or abbyslane.com would almost definitely have them. (abby's lane is free shipping)

  • We got ones made by Finis- that go over the regular diaper.

I purchased them at BRU in the bathing suit section.

ETA- small starts at 13 lbs.

  • We got swim pants for our swim class-they are a cover for the swim diaper at a little baby boutique resale store.  I couldn't find them at Target and live too far from BRU--but I found them for $2! Normally I think they run about $10 or so--
  • We took DS to the waterpark yesterday. I second the Little Swimmers under the trunks. They worked great! Have fun.
