I was thinking of doing an infant swim class in the fall thru community ed or some place of the like and I wonder if there is a rule or requirement about the type of swim diaper (disposable/built-in/cloth). We are in wmsvl but I'm guessing most places have pretty much the same rules. Also- if you have done something like this did you have a good experience?

I put my daughter in an infant swim class at a year - it was the first class available for her the program would not allow them any earlier then 9 months. We love it.
As for swim diapers we use the little swimmers in her diaper size and have not had any problems with the pool.
Good luck and have fun.

I have been doing swim classes with Tyler since he was about 7 months old on and off. We go to a YMCA and they are strict that non-potty trained kids must be in a disposable swim diaper and a swim suit. I know other places also require plastic covers over top the swim diaper. And yes, they are usually required to be at least 6 months to be in the pool. This recommendation is actually for the health of the baby. Under 6 months the chlorine is harsh on them and any possible germs in the pool could be an issue with little babies. As far as how we like the classes, eh, I think it really depends on the instructor. We have had good classes and useless classes!
