Re: Where is baby sleeping??

  • Pack'n'Play right next to our bed. (In the bassinet)
  • Loading the player...
  • moses basket on a stand in our room. We plan on moving soon after the baby and have on in a crib (not ready for a toddler bed) so didn't want to buy another crib, by the time we move and get settled our first will be ready for a toddler be then we will move this one into the crib.

  • in her crib in her room
  • in a PnP w/ Newborn Napper, in our room.
  • Arms Reach Co-sleeper which will be kept by our bed.
  • Bassinet from stroller (still undecided on model) on bassinet stand next to our bed. We're into space saving/multi-purpose use items.
  • My MIL pulled DH's bassinet (which was originally hers) out of the atic today.  She asked if we would use it.  I did not want to say know because A) I had not thought of other sleeping options yet and B) the sentiment of the offer.  However I am bit freaked out to accept it.  The bassinet is 67 years old!

     This.

  • To the ladies who said your baby will be in your room with you;

When do you plan on moving your baby into a nursery, if at all?

I always wondered when you made the change from sleeping in the same room (if that's your plan) to nursery.. Same with the family bed sleeping arrangement.. When do you go from family bed to bed by themselves?

Ideally, for me, around 1 month.  I think the sooner the baby becomes accustom to sleeping in a crib, in a room of it's own, the better.

  • Have a family cradle that my grandfather made for my parents when I was born.  He'll be in there in our room at first.  DD got to the point at around 4 weeks when she just wouldn't sleep well in it anymore. So we'll probably move him into his room some time between 4 and 6 weeks.  It was just easier with nursing when we were just home from the hospital last time.

With our DD she stayed in our room till she was 1 1/2 due to medical reasons. But with this baby he will go to his crib around 3 months. Our Pediatrician &  Pulmonary Doc.'s recommended that he remain with us for at least the first 3 month (or longer in we can) to deduce the risk of SIDS. Along with any other medical issues should there be any.

I don't have a definite timeline in mind; we'll make the switch when I stop getting up so much in the middle of the night. The baby's room is across the house from our room. Probably around 3 or 4 months. I know a lot of people who made the switch at 4 months and had no issues.

  • Just bought the bassinet today. Baby will be in there in our room until we move into the house...when will that be...huh ask DH he is moving slow....I am so ready to go in there and decorate but am limited now that baby bump is getting bigger..need to take it easy.

  • We have a Moses Basket in our room. He'll move into his crib in his own room at about 3 months or if he doesn't fit anymore.

  • I think the plan now is that baby will be in room with us until around 3 months. That's supposedly when feedings start to drop a little, and the baby has more strength so less worry about something scary happening in the crib.

  • next to our bed in the bassinet!
  • Baby will be sleeping in an Arms Reach Co-sleeper until I want to move him/her. We aren't even getting a crib until...we want one. I have no time line at all. I'm going to do what feels right for my family when they time comes.

  • We are thinking about setting up the pack n play with bassinet and changer in our room for the first 2-3 weeks for night time sleeping and having the baby sleep in the crib during the day.

  • Crib at nights, pack n play downstairs during the day
  • Probably in the bassinet that comes with the stroller.  I think I'm going to get the Phil and Teds Sport Buggy and matching cocoon.
  • Most likely straight to his crib. My first son was in his crib when he was about a week old. I would prefer him in our room longer. This is a bit of a battle in our house right now. My son slept great from day one as did my husband and I. It's hard to fight when it worked so well for us the first time.
  • Our plan is a bassinet next to the bed.  We haven't really figured out when we'll make the switch to the crib across the hall.  I'm thinking we'll know the right time.
***************************** Our beautiful daughter was born in October 2009. Turns out she was quite the miracle. After two years of TTC, diagnosed with DOR. A couple of failed treatment cycles later, we decided to let go of our hope for more biological children and explore adoption.
  • They are going right into the crib.  Our room is really small, and the nursery is right across the hall, so it should work out well!

  • Pack-N-Play in our room at night (for feeding ease) but napping in his crib during the day so that he can get used to sleeping in there.  I have some friends who only did the PNP for naps and nightime sleeping and the babies had a difficult time adjusting to sleeping in their cribs when they finally made the transition.

Yes, this!  However we moved our daughter to her room after two nights because I wasn't getting any sleep.  Every time she made a noise, I was awake and I wasn't sleeping at all.  So, when we put her in her room and turned down the moitor a little, we only heard her when she really needed us and it was so much better.  It's worth a walk down the hall 4 times a night in order to get better sleep in-between.

  • in the crib in his/her room right next to our room. there is a double bed in there too for me - it's a mother/baby suite.

  • For the first 2-3 months the baby will be in a pack n play in our room
  • We have a small house so he will be in his crib in his room.
  • Pack n play in our room.  We co-slept with the other two but we're going to try not to do that this time.

We've moved our kids around 7-8 months when they woke up less for nursing.  It makes it much easier and our kids never had any problems transitioning to their own room.  We started them with naps very early

  • We are doing the moses basket and/or co-sleeping. ?We will be doing this until every one is comfortable with the change and the baby is sleeping on his/her own. ?

    this.

  • In a co sleeper in our bedroom
  • We're planning to put the crib in our room until breastfeeding gets easier.  DH is a very light sleeper so my thought is we may end up moving it sooner than we think.
