Hi Ladies,
I'm usually on the TTCAL board, but DH just told me tonight there is a 90%chance we will need to move to Philly by the end of August. We are in San Diego and I'm not sure where to start looking for places to live.
Can anyone suggest a safe neighborhood? We're a working couple with no kids (yet!). We both have cars.
His job will be in King of Prussia ....
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
Re: DH being transferred to Philly....we are in San Diego!
I'd sugest Blue Bell or King of Prussia. I'd stick with Montgomery County.
BTW- My sister and her family are in Coronado with the Navy.
Thank you so much!
Coronado is gorgeous ... I'm going to miss SD.
i live in king of prussia-
feel free to email me if you wish: stacya625@gmail.com
i lived in this area forever- KOP is a GREAT area. Close to everything, the houses are VERY VERY reasonable- good school district, very family friendly. but can advise you of other areas too.
I live in Paoli which is on the border of Chester County and Mont. Co - schools are excellent around here if you are looking to have a family eventually. King of Prussia is a great area as well - you can email me as well if you have any questions: linsleygentile@yahoo.com
Good luck!
Hello, I live in Lafayette Hill, PA (in Montgomery county) and we love it here. It is close to KOP and has easy access to major highways (turnpike, 476, 76) There is great public school system - we haven't used it yet but it was one of the draws to the area for us.
PM me if you have any questions about the area - good luck in your search and your move.
Lower Merion School District is the best, we chose to buy a small house in Ardmore when we decided to move out of the city and start the baby-making process. Homes are more expensive in this school district-- but they hold their value (and only improve) because it is the most desirable.
And if you're looking for a doc's office-- I have PCOS too -- I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Penn Health for Women at Radnor. They have several docs who specialize in PCOS and they are a part of the Penn University Hospital System- which does ongoing research for PCOS treatment. They were wonderful-- and they helped me get pregnant in two months (after I had been unsuccessful with a few other infertility specialists in the area.)
Good Luck!
I have to say, you Philly ladies are the best. I can't thank you enough for all of your help. I really appreciate it.
Also, Mainline .... you made me tear up with your RE recommendation. That's been one of my biggest worries that I wouldn't find a practice that can continue my care with PCOS. Thank you so much for the recommendation.
Glad to help, Beaunal. We PCOS ladies have to look out for each other. Letrozole (AKA Femara) did the trick for me-- Clomid side effects stink (and I had inconsistent results).
Hope the move goes well.
I live in King of Prussia (KOP) now after moving out of the Manayunk section of Philly where I lived for about 10 years. I really do love it here. There is easy access to to both the city and local shopping and there are several exceptional doctors and hospitals in the area to help you with the PCOS as mentioned above.
Best of luck!
