Babies: 9 - 12 Months

I wish I could sleep in.

DH is just sleeping away. He works really hard 6 days a week, outside in the heat I might add, so I usually let him sleep on his day off. Well, he's off Sat and Sun this week so he better let me sleep in tomorrow!

Who gets to sleep in at your house on the weekends?

Re: I wish I could sleep in.

  • nobody!  DH leaves for work at 4am on Sat, Sun, and Mon, so there is no sleeping in :(

  • DH every time. I work 32 hours a week and he works close to 60 between his two jobs. I think it's only fair. Plus I get up at 545am for my job and I'm so used to getting up early that it's damn near impossible for me to really sleep in. Today for example DD is at the IL's for a sleepover and I still woke up at 8am.

I'll sleep-in when the kids are out of high school lol. About 21 years from now I guess. Indifferent

  • Not me.... ever. And he works 4 or 5 days a week... normal hours in nice cold AC. Today, I am bitter about it. LOL
  • my husband naturally wakes up at 6:30 or 7, so he always gets up with our daughter (she gets up around 7:30).  He hangs out with her until 8am during the week and brings her to me to nurse while he gets ready for work.

On the weekends he gives her a bottle and I sleep in until whenever I want!!  I know I am really lucky...but she still gets up twice a night.

  • he gets up with her on the weekends, it's a really nice change of pace.

    sidenote:  are you coming today?

  • Me--- I get up with DS every day regardless.  We don't have real weekends in our family because DH is a firefighter.  He works 24 on, 48 off.  His shift starts at 7, but he needs to be there around 6:30-6:45 and he leaves our house at 5:50 due to distance (and needing coffee:).  On the days he gets off shift he is home at about 7:30.  DS is an early riser, so, I get up with him every day.

I'm having a particularly hard morning because DS was sleeping in, but then the fire station called to say they needed my husband to stay on for 24 more hours of overtime and that woke him.  Now we are both tired and gearing up for another day with no DH:(

  • I let DH sleep in on Sundays, his only weekend day off. ?He gets up with DS every other day of the week since he works until after bedtime (so mornings are "their" time) but the guy deserves to sleep on Sundays!

  • We alternate on his days off.  DH is a shift worker, so he generally works 4 on, 4 off.  On his days off, I let him sleep in on his first day off, but I make sure I get a couple days to sleep in too.  Although it's not really sleeping in, since I EBF...but once DD wakes up, he brings her to me to nurse, then takes her & plays with her for the 1.5hrs she us up until her next nap.

  • We used to take turns, but now we just both get up. Someone has to take care of DS and the other one has to feed the dog and let him out. So, it is just easier for both of us to get up.
