ivf prep drugs and warnings

has anyone else been given medicine to take and read the warning information that comes from the pharmacy . . . well one of mine says may cause various types of cancer.  I called the dr office and the nurse told me that they have to put that there if anyone has ever gotten cancer and given a list of the medicines they had taken.  the nurse also said that I am not taking enough of it to cause concern.  has anyone else had a similiar experience?  just one more thing to think about in all of the worrying I am already doing . . . .  thanks!!

    I don't have any experience with IVF drugs, but I do think that those lists of possible side effects and/or cancer warnings on any medication are there are a precaution (and drug companies covering their asses).

    There are risks in life with anything, if you are really concerned and it would alter your decision to go for IVF, research the instance of cancer in IVF drug taking subjects.

    Try not to worry though. Really.

    I agree with Cat...I have something I need to take and it says not to take if pregnant...well I'll be taking it to help me get pg with this IVF...go figure

    A lot of the IVF drugs have warnings that there's the possibility of cancer. I did IVF and had my DD as a result. I was fully aware of the risks going into it and I wouldn't change my decision at all. The pain I felt during the 2 years of trying to have her was unbearable and I couldn't imagine life without her. It was worth everything I went through and always will be. If I get cancer I'll never really know if it was from the IVF or not. All I know is I had to have DD in my life and was willing to take the risk and do anything to make that happen. It's a personal choice and some people are not willing to do that, so it's totally up to you. good luck.
