What do you do????????
Both of our LOs have colic and DH and I are at a loss at what to do. Our pediatrician said that if they're fed, changed, and not hurt, there isn't anything else to do but try to rock them and comfort them that way. Either way, we just have to listen to them cry.
It KILLS me to do this. They both get to screaming and there isn't anything I can do to soothe them. Anybody with tips, please HELP!
Re: NE1 have BOTH babies with colic???
omg yes!!!! our kids colic was related to reflux tho
have they considered that might be an issue????
can you put some phone books under their mattress on one end to have it at a 30 degree incline???
Im sorry you are going thru this...how tough
Colic is just AWFUL. ?I'm so sorry and all I can say is that I have been there. ?The things that worked best for us were following the Happiest Baby on the Block. ?(we watched the dvd) ?It's the 5 S's. ?Swaddle, swing, shush, suck, side hold. ?I highly recommend watching the dvd. ?
We kept DD swaddled for a LARGE part of the day when she was tiny. ?We would swaddle her, put her in the swing, and give her the pacifier and leave white noise playing LOUD. ?Sometimes it would work to walk around and hold her tight against me. ?It helped a bit to change her formula as well to Alimentum. ?
Colic is a nightmare. ?I am so sorry you're going through it. ?All I can say is that it WILL pass. ?Oh and when you put them down for the night it helped us to put her down EARLY like 6/6:30pm. ?Hugs!!!?
You poor thing! Both of mine had colic and it was awful, too I truly questioned if we would all make it out alive!
I 2nd (or3rd) Happiest Baby on the Block. It really helped both of mine. We would hold Abby away from us laying down on our arm with her head at our elbow. She also liked to be in the Baby Bjorn facing out. I think both of these things mashed her tummy and made her feel better.
Olivia was a lot worse. She liked to be put down in the bouncer and bounced and bounced and bounced. OMG, I think I bounced her for a month straight. She also liked to be worn in my Moby, but with two it was tough. One night we put her in her car seat after 3 hours of crying and swung her back and forth and she stopped.
Both of ours had formula issues and reflux. We tried them all and finally settled on different formulas for each of them
It was a crap shoot trying to figure out what each needed. Good luck!! The most encouraging thing is, It will pass. I know it is hard to imagine right now being in the middle of it, but it does get better. ((hugs)) to you.
Gripe water, gas dropps, SWADDLE and shush (making the "shhhhhhh" sound), swing, bouncy, white noise (rain, waves, vacuum, wind).
It isn't easy, but it will pass. We also discovered reflux at that stage. We were hit with colic and reflux with both babies around the same time.
Page me if you need to talk. It does get better.
