Hi Girls,
My DH and I will be meeting with an RE but I found out today that the 1st available appt. is August 22. I took the appt. but I didn't know if we were still ok I guess to try the old fashioned way otherwise I'll miss 2 cycles before the appt. I turn 41 in Sept. I had emailed the RN and she said we can try if we choose to do so. I figured they weren't going to tell me no, but I haven't even meet with the RE. Anyway, the only downside is getting PG and going through another CP or worse. I guess it's the price we pay to get PG. Any thoughts? Would you keep on trying?
TIA...this RE stuff is all new to me!
Re: Question for you RE girls....
I'm kinda confused sorry....what is it that would stop you from trying before seeing the RE?
This is why I am so ignorant in the process. I didn't know if I got PG...and end up with another CP would I mess up any testing etc.
I don't think you will mess anything up. I would keep trying. Hopefully, you will be one of those lucky women who get pregnant by just making the appointment with the RE.
This... and keep trying on your own!
Nope, you'll be fine. And as a pp said, ask to be put on a cancellation list.
GL!
Actually, I had (still have) the exact same concern. It could mess up the testing and timing. If you have a CP, you could lose a week or so, which isn't that big of a deal, but the problem then is, the CD3 testing. You wouldn't be able to do the testing until the NEXT cycle, which would throw you back another cycle for treatment. If you think your problem is sticky BFPs, then you would just continue to get them over and over and never be able to do testing.
I only had one month before the RE appointment and (luckily) not a CP. At the appointment I asked if I should try this month prior to next cycle testing. The RE said yes, but agreed that a CP would delay the testing. It did make me feel better when he said that I would be his patient and would have the support of him and the staff and could get early testing and monitoring.
Maybe you could call and see if they are willing to monitor you, if you should get a BFP, despite not having had an appointment yet.
Ditto what others said...keep trying and cancellation list.
Thanks girls. I took your advice and I am now on the cancellation list!
GymDog....thanks for the info:) I will email the RN and inquire!
