2nd Trimester

We discussed higher, how about lower?

Earlier today there was a conversation about feeling flutters/kicks higher than normal.... but what about lower?

I have been disappointed that I have yet to feel movement in 21 weeks and change.

The last couple of days, i have felt some "goldfish" type of feeling probably 4 inches below my belly button. Is this too low for it to be the baby? anyone else?

Re: We discussed higher, how about lower?

  • My flutters were all low. Now that his movement is consitant it is still all low.

  • Thats usually where I feel the baby moving too. The highest I've felt her move it as high as my belly button but most of the time shes low.

No.  I feel Sera kicking me in the cervix sometimes and other times in the ribs.

  • Most of the time i feel like I have a head between my legs -- these babies are looooow. You should be feeling them all over soon, but definitely down low.
  • That isn't too low my LO usually is sitting pretty low and until the last few days I have always felt the baby low.
  • i'd like to read the thread on higher than normal, b/c i've been feeling this tickling sensation all day but never in my lower tummy.

does anyone have a link in case i can't find it on my own?

Most likely LO - I felt all of my first movements very low, and still do a lot of the time.

  • I feel both. I feel them very low and since our LO is head down, I think it is trying to claw its way out!

:) I think you can feel it a number of places and as it grows you'll feel it more all over-- or in specific places.

  • You can feel it pretty much anywhere you uterus has grown honestly. ?I have low high everywhere, ?I only felt fish like movement this time for awhile this baby flips much more than DD and also depends on placement of the placenta too. ?

  • I have not felt much distinct movement at all, but yesterday I felt exactly what you just described. I'm so eager to experience distinct movement. Can't wait!
  • My flutters were pretty low in the beginning.  But now that he's really kicking & punching they are much higher, right around my belly button most of the time.

  • Right now mine are all lower.  At my ultrasound, the tech told me the placenta was at the top of my uterus and that I would not feel movement higher until the baby was bigger.
  • My u/s tech told me it depended on how your uterus grew as well as if the baby was face up or face down.  My LO is swimming around on her belly so I feel the flutters way down on mu pubic line cause that's where her arms and legs are kicking around.  If your baby is swimming on his/her back, you'd feel them up higher.
  • Just the other day I was laying down and my  LO was kicking me like mid way down my hip.  That's the only way I can describe it.  Thought she was going to fall out, lol.
  • My flutters were high for my 20 wk u/s and her head turned out to be right up against my cervix so she was kicking up at my belly button.

I had to go in again a week later and the kicks were low - near my pelvic bone. U/s showed she had turned herself right side up and was kicking low.

It was cool to have the u/s confirm the changes in the kicks were right and cool to know I could figure out where the baby was.
