Stupid TUMS are failing me :(

I have had such bad heartburn the past few days and it seems as if TUMS are no longer working.  DAMNIT!!!!!!!

    That is terrible.  Maybe try some rolaids or something of the sort.

    try pepcid.  it's tums plus zantac (ranitidine) which is also safe and works wonders for me!

    They were failing me too and a friend suggested Gaviscon (it was her heart burn help while PG). It is working wonders for me. I got the tablets you chew that fizz up in your mouth.

    As crazy as this is going to sound; I've struggled with bad acid reflux as of late. I asked my MW and she recommended ALMONDS. I thought she was crazy, but i gave it a try.  I've even got a small bowl at my bedside for night time and it really works!! and its drug free as I've tried really hard not to have to take any medications!! Its worth a try!!! GL !!

    Zantac...my dr. said up to 300mg/day if you need that much.

    I can usually stand it during the day when I'm upright, but at night its killer- I am living off of chocolate milk (whole only!) and have sworn off all sodas until October!

    I like the chewable pepcid - it gives pretty quick relief like a Tums but then has the lasting relief of pepcid or zantac.

    Tums never worked for me. Try pepcid. I also swear by chocolate milk. But it has to be ice cold!

    I suggest Zantac. You can get it over the counter and it is safe to take. I take it and It works wonders, and you only have to take one compared to 6 or more Tums. It defiantly works for me. GOOD LUCK.

    Pepcid Complete...i swear by it!!  It is what my doctor recommended, one in the AM and one in the PM.  So far i have been pretty much heartburn free!  And i buy the Meijer brand and its just as good and about $10 cheaper.

    My MW recommended that I try gaviscon or papaya not sure how well they will work as walmart didn't have either yesturday and I was not up to looking at another store.
