Birth Control after Kids......

When you are done having kids what are you going to do for birth control?  Dh had a vasectomy about a month ago...  I'm still going to have the laser thing done.  Are we crazy for going double duty?  BTW the vasectomy was no big deal...  not even a stich... and less than 15 minutes...  not even an Advil necessary...

    DH is scheduled for a vasectomy on the 24th.

    DH has it in his mind that he may trick me into another one one day so no vasectomy for him.  Really I think he's just chicken.  As soon as BF is done, I like you will be making things permanent.

    If they open me up for this one, I plan to consider making things permanent. However, doc has something she would like to say about this - I need to ask soon. She hinted at suggesting we go for the vasectomy instead. We are going to hear her out on this.

    DH got a vasectomy in March.  I'm a little nervous because he never returned for his follow-up in May!  Watch me get knocked up again.

    I'm weird about the finality of vasectomies and tubals.  I don't really know why, but I am.  So I went with the Paragard IUD (copper, non-hormonal).  It took about 1 minute to insert, was painless, cost me nothing but a copay, and is good for 10 years.  Not sure what we'll do after the 10 years is up.  I'll either get another one put in, or maybe at that point I'll be more comfortable with the finality of a vasectomy for DH.

    Me too.  I have this fear that I'll have a tubal and then want another. lol  I mean seriously, #3 already!  But I don't know.  I just can't do it.  So, I'll go back to the paraguard most likely.  Even though I seriously hated my periods on it.

    Mine too.  We will not pull the goalie until DH has been back for his follow up...and even then I might still be hesitant for a couple of months.

    Vasectomny all the way.  DH already said that's what he's doing...works for me!

    Since I had a c-sec with J, doc tied my tubes at the same time.  If it would have been a vag birth, DH would have had a vasectomy.

    Yep - DH agrees too. Not sure when or how that decision would be made though. It does so like those of you who have made up your minds are definite so maybe I will feel that way at some point at some number of kids.
