I don't think I want to find out, DH does. So we are still debating, his solution is for the Dr to tell only him. I don't think that is a very foolproof plan. My husband is the kind of guy who gives me all my christmas presents a week early because he's so excited! Secrets really aren't his specialty!
I told DH about 2 weeks ago that this was up to him. I feel like there are so many things that I wont even be giving him a choice in so this was one he got to decide all on his own. He wants to know. He wants to know everything he can about this baby. So I guess we'll be finding out
I think we both want to find out just because we are so excited that we don't want to wait. If we had it our way, baby would already be here. (And I'm only in my 7th week ) Besides, I want to pick out either pinks or blues. I'm not that into green and yellow anyways. LOL.
My husband and I plan on having the doc tell us the sex of our baby. We just want to be as prepared as possible. Besides, I like to know everything and I don't think I can stand not knowing what's growing inside of me
I want to know but DBF doesn't. I think he may give in though. I am a planner and with my Type A personality, it would kill me to not be able to make choices without knowing the sex of the baby...but that's just me.
We definitely want to find out! I am just too curious! I figure there will be enough surprises while pregnant for the first time and I want to be sure of at least the sex!
We talked and decided long before we were even engaged that we didn't want to find out for the main reason being we both feel there are very few actual true surprises in life. The only person in that room is the tech who can maybe (assuming the baby is cooperating!) see the gender. That tech could care less either way if you know or not know. Neither of us are the types that need to know for planning purposes so not knowing is really not an issue.
The other reason we don't want to know the sex is kinda selfish and possibly could sound greedy but as first time parents, we don't have the 'stuff' needed to take care of baby. If you know the sex of the baby, you get some stuff & tons of clothes. Don't get me wrong, I do realize clothes are great due to several changes a day but stuff is costly. I have seen this situation go both ways and it only reinforced (I know it may sound greedy) my opinion to not find out the sex.
we are finding out. we cant not find out. dh is way to excited about this baby. he was in iraq for his first born so he actually gets to be here for everything.
My hubby really wants to find out but I don't so I am not sure what we will do yet. On one hand I think there are no suprises left and this would be a great little suprise but I also know that me and my hubby open our x-mas presents 3 weeks early because we cant wait so I have a feeling when the time comes that we wont be able to take it and we will find out. I have to say it would be easier to decorate a room.
DH and I both want to find out the sex. When it's either Christmas or a birthday, neither of us can wait to give the other a present and always end up exchanging two weeks earlier. I don't think there's any way we could wait with this little present.
Our original deal was - if it's twins we find out, if it's not we don't. But, now we know it's not twins. So we're thinking of a new deal. A tiny part of me wants to know and not tell anybody (ha, I don't really think that is possible), a part of me is afraid I'll find out and then it'll be wrong. So, as of now, I'm going with no, we aren't finding out. Unless DH can convince me of why we should, with several reasons.
However or a different note DH did say last night that, since the only name we agree on 100% is a girls name, we'll just have to have a girl first. But, we'll have a back of girls name incase it is a girl and they don't look like that first name, and at least 2 boys names (I hope) ready to go either way.
We are finding out since its twins. At first DH had a fit because I wanted to know and then when we found out it was twins and everyone was telling us to let them know what they are so they can give us clothes and stuff he decided it was best to know the gender.
We both can't wait to put a name on our baby.. We can't stop talking about what it could be.. We both want a healthy and happy baby but if given the chance to choose,DH prefers a Boy and i prefer a Girl.. LoL!!!

Yes we both want to find out!! In the far future when we decide we want another one we might keep that one a surprise, but I am awful with surprises and always want to know what is going on!

We are definitely going to find out! I'm a first-timer, but from what I've heard, it brings a whole new level to bonding with the baby before they are born! We have agreed on both a girl and boy name, but I think I want a girl and he secretly wants a boy. We'll see though...
My husband wants to and said the same thing Brightgirl01's said and he's the same way (as in, not being able to keep a secret). I told him since I have to feel sick while carrying the baby and I don't want to find out that we aren't finding out. He's mostly agreed to it. I told him my reasons for not finding out which include...this is one of the few surprises in life and you know you'll find out eventually, I don't want ALL pink or blue anything, and one of my favorite parts about when my niece and nephew were born was when their dad came out and said, "it's a boy or it's a girl!"
We're finding out Neither of us has a preference, and the nursery will be neutral anyway, so finding out really doesn't have any bearing on anything outside of gifts we may receive.
No, not finding out. Both agree that it would be super fun to wait, although it's going to kill our families... "How am I supposed to know if I should buy pink or blue?!" Their inability to see past two colors is going to be great entertainment.
It wouldn't affect any planning... nursery would be gender-neutral anyway and the boy/girl names are selected.
YES.YES. We have already checked out the Chinese Gender Chart and did the "ring test" both said GIRL. My DS says he wants a baby sister so we all def want to find out the sex in 8 more weeks!!
We are going to wait but we aren't so set on waiting that we'll be upset if a tech/dr. lets it slip by accident. I tend to prefer the yellows and greens to blues and pinks anyway! We'll have a couple of names for each gender picked out!
DH knows that I really want to find out. He has not really said one way or the other. We have talked about not picking names until we know the sex, so I guess we are in agreement about finding out as soon as we can. I am way too much of a planner to not know!
I want to find out, but DH doesn't...although I think I'm starting to sway him. I'm guessing I'll get my way with this one, so we'll probably find out!!
At first there was no way DH was going to go for finding out. However now that we are actually having a baby he decides it's ok to find out. No matter when you find out it's a surprise. I guess it's all about when you want the surprise. I want to be prepared for a whatever the gender is. I have to know.

Make sure that if you decide to have the Dr/tech just tell your DH that he can keep a secret!! I am an US tech and a couple asked me a few years ago to take DH outside and just tell him as mom didn't want to know...I did, and as soon as we walked back into the exam room he exclaimed "It's a boy!!!" So much for keeping it a secret!!
My husband and I are going to find out, we're so excited!

Re: Feb First Timers getting to know each other...
I want to find out and my DH doesn't so we are still debating. He told me yesterday that I will get my way so I think he is warming up to the idea.
