3rd Trimester

I am going to be pregnant FOREVER

I had PTL issues at 31 weeks so I was VERY relieved to get past 35w (when I had DS#1).  I never thought I would make it to 38+ weeks.  Don't get me wrong, I would MUCH rather have a fullt term baby and be uncomfortable - I just didn't expect the last 5 weeks to be THIS uncomfortable.  I seriously feel like he's never going to come out!

  • Luckily doctors don't (usually) let you go past 42 weeks so "forever" is only another 4 weeks or so. ;)

  • Your LO will be here very soon!

Unrelated, but how was your DS when he was born at 35 weeks? Did he have to spend time in the NICU? I always wonder about these things.

This is what I keep in my head.  I am getting more and more uncomfortable, but of course I want a full term healthy baby, but just to know they only let you go to a certain point makes me feel better :)

We were actually very lucky.  DS#1 was very small (not even 6 lbs), but he could breathe on his own, had good Apgar scores, and did not need to go to the NICU.  With him, my water ruptured with no other signs of PTL so they watched me a lot closer this time and noticed my early dilation.  We had some breathing issues between 6-18 months (probably related to his early delivery), but otherwise, he was perfect.

I need to tattoo this on my forehead so I can keep myself sane!  Wink

That is so great! Stories like that always give me goosebumps for some reason!
  • I was thinking this today too. I actually thought aat one point, "What if I never have this baby?" Thank goodness it will come out eventually, and we are not pregnant forever.
