2nd Trimester

Vent, rant...I just needed to write.

DH exploded at me this morning. I had just dropped him off at our mechanic's to pick his car up. When they pulled his car around I told him his tires looked low and that he should have them put some air in them before his commute to work. It was something along the lines of 'How about when I get home tonight you try not to be so pissy? You've been pissy to me about everything lately'. Oh. My. God. I immediately burst into hysteric sobs, mumbled something about having to get to a meeting and drove off.

He's since called me to apologize and I know that he really is very sorry, but my feelings are way hurt right now. We never argue...never. We've never 'had words' with each other. It's almost abnormal how well we jive.

Maybe I am being pissy. You know what...I am PROBABLY being pissy. A little human is living in my abdomen, stretching my everything out to everywhere. My hormones had me crying at a 4th of July parade for crap's sake. I'm not going to be all rainbows and sunshine all the time, you know?

Somebody... tell me it's ok to be pissy.

  • It's ok to be pissy :)

I'm sure your husband is just feeling a little stressed too, and it sounds like he feels bad. Try not to be too hard on him, it'll be ok and you guys are still doing fine. I know you're not used to arguing but I promise that it's ok to snap every now and then. Hey, it's actually good practice because I can guarantee that you'll have a few "words" at about 3am after the baby gets here Wink

  • I think its more normal for each of you to have the occasional pissy day than to never ever argue. If you never vent negative feelings one of you (or both) is probably stuffing those feelings down. Unhealthy.

Sounds like you both just need to have a little talk about communication- keep it respectful both ways and I'm sure things will be ok. DH calls me out (politely) when I get pissy, and I appreciate it much moreso than a DH tantrum. And vice versa.

  • LMFAO, I love this line:I'm not going to be all rainbows and sunshine all the time, you know?

OMG, it is okay to be pissy.  Stick out tongue

  • It's ok to be pissy!  Definitely.

But if apologized, try to let it go and move on. You migh feel better then.

  • it is ok to be pissy.  It is also ok for him to be pissy.  Its ok to argue, as long as there is a resolution to said argument.

  • That was us today, too.  I warned him that if he throws my overpriced stroller into argument again I will stay with my dad.  I never threaten such, ever, but my whole day was just crap and I am sick of hearing it.  He took it back.
