My insurance - through H, provided by the Fed Govt - does not cover much of infertility treatment at all.... or maybe it does, but we do not live in a state where infertility is covered.
I might have the option at my job to go work on a project in Boston - where IF does have mandatory coverage - for a few months. Were I to take that option, and go to a fertility clinic there, would my insurance then have to cover me? If no, would the answer change if I were to change to the insurance provided by my private-sector employer (who provides zippo for IF)?
TIA!
Re: Could I get away with this... insurance question
I hope you dont mind me responding to your post...
I would call your insurance company and ask so you would know for sure. But I dont think it would work. It is all about where your insurance company is based. If they are based in your home state, it wont matter that you are in Boston. You would have to have an insurance company plan out of MA for it to be covered. I live in MA, and have BCBS of MA, so treatments were covered. If I lived in MA and my insurance was based in another state, then they wouldnt have to pay for IF treatments. I hope that makes sense. Good luck and I hope I am wrong!!
I just didnt want to offend you with my siggy pic. Glad I didnt.
) And good luck again with everything!
