TTC after 35

Do you have to use FMU with a HPT?

I posted on TTCAL but wanted to ask this question here as well. It's been 16 days since my IUI and that's when they told me to call if my period hadn't shown. Well I didn't have any HPT's at home and this morning I peed a few times to make sure I wasn't spotting before I bought the test. So I went and bought one but then I couldn't pee!!! So I drank tons of water until I had to pee and then got a BFN. The nurse said to come tomorrow morning first thing for bloodwork?

Should I test again using FMU tomorrow??? Should I just accept the fact that it's a BFN again? I can take the honesty...thanks!

  • Drinking tons of water means your urine was really diluted.  I wouldn't be too disappointed about the BFN yet.

  • With two of my pregnancies I used mid day pee and got BFPs between 12-13 DPO.  I think if you are KU then it will be a positive at 16dpIUI.  GOOD LUCK!

Oh but I have heard...don't drink tons of water just go like normal.  Tons of water could dilute the results.

  • FMU is recommended, but I POAS mid afternoon when I got my BFP.  Drinking a ton would definitely dilute the results.

Sounds like you're still in it!

    GOOD LUCK!

  • I need FMU at 9 and 10 dpo, but by 11 days I could pee anytime. ?However, I didn't drink a ton of water before I went. ?I would still test again in the morning.
