Aiden was wrapped up in a worn white hospital blanket with pink and blue stripes when they brought him to me. My Mom says she remembers thinking that her grandbaby deserved a nice new blanket. At the time, I didn't think about taking his blanket home. No one offered it to me. I never really thought about it afterwards.
My mom searched and searched until she found a blanket just like that one, from a lady who worked at that hospital. She took it and got it embroidered with the most beautiful blue letters. It said his full name and birthdate. She couldn't get it in time, so she gave it to me late. Last weekend, she brought tears to my eyes when she gave it to me. I am so glad I have it now to wrap my sweet baby's ashes in.
I miss my sweet Baby Aiden. I am feeling sad right now, yet grateful to have a great Mom.
