Orange County Babies

Dr. Recommendation

Hi ladies... I know that alot of your are Greater Newport members.  Have any of your run into a Dr. that is willing to do the alternate vaccination schedule.  I heard from some doctor friends that most Drs arent willing to do the alternate schedule because of insurance, but I wondered if you had interviewed any that are a part of our group.  I went to a La Leche meeting that was at Dr. Sear's house in San Clemente, but no one talked about vaccinations and I felt weird bringing it up.  There was just too many women breast feeding 4 years olds for me to concentrate... I think I am still in shock a bit from that.  Sorry!  :)

Thanks for your help!

  • Yikes!  I've been debating on going to a LLL mtg, just to get some free BFing advice. At least now, I'll have an idea of what to expect.  Indifferent
  • hahahha... I have to redeem La Leche before I get someone yelling at me.  I have been to 2 different groups.  One was 4 year olds getting breastfed and the other one was for working moms and was in the afternoons.  No weird breastfeeding situations at the afternoon one in Irvine.  I got alot of GREAT information that I dont think I would have gotten anywhere else. I got to see exactly how a baby latches on and a first hand look at breastfeeding (which I have seen friends and family breastfeed, but never really looked because obviously that is weird) and tons of great advice.  So APK, you should definitely go to one of the meetings... I think it will be a really great support system.

    Good to know Wink

Maybe I'll try to hit up the working moms one in Irvine, that sounds much more beneficial to me.

Same with Dr Abelowitz at Coastal Kids (Newport, Ladera, and Laguna Hills offices). Dr A is mostly in Newport but if he does it, I would be surprised if the other docs in the practice don't.
