So I'm sure you are all much more brilliant and have already thought of this, but it was something I totally forgot about.
If you have pets, be sure you have a neighbor, friend, or family member who has access to your house and can feed or watch the pets for you in case you go into labor and have to stay overnight while laboring.
Regardless you'll probably be in the hospital for 2ish days anyway and you may not want DH to be running back and forth between the house and the hospital even after you've delivered.
So be sure you have pet plans in place!
I totally forgot and we had a neighbor who was able to feed them, but one of the dogs didn't do well that one night without humans and had some anxiety. In retrospect, I would have worked out an agreement with our pet resort or a friend to have her watch them 24/7 on short notice while we were otherwise occupied. DH was able to go home after I'd delivered, but the during the labor process you obviously don't want him to leave!
Re: PSA for those of you with pets
We have our pet care lined up, but also be sure to buy extra food just in case you're running low when you go in!

I actually did not think of this!! Luckily, we only have cats, so we just fill up two really big bowls with food and water and they could care less if we were here.
Thanks!
