TTC After a Loss

New here! new help! please...

A week ago we were supposed to go to our big u/s at 20w 1d. But instead had to delived our dead baby girl.... I?m going back for a follow-up dr. appt tomorrow. This was my 1st pregnancy so you can bet a had tons of questions and concerns.....but now I can?t even concentrate, I can?t even think about what happened last week without crying for hours, I?m even afraid to go back to the hospital where I delived her....What should I asked? We want to TTC ASAP!!! Is there anything we can do besides meds? (it?s probably a stupid question...I?m sorry, but we really want a baby in the near future) tia

  • There are several wonderful women here who had late losses and can help you better than I. I wanted to tell you how sorry I am for your loss.

  • I am so so so sorry for your loss. I had an early m/c, so I don't have any experience to share. I would definitely ask what you should expect physically - like how long will it take for your body to go back to normal, when can you TTC again, and if there's anything you should look out for (like if it's been X weeks and you still don't have AF, should you call?). Hopefully they will be helpful and compassionate.

this.  Both of my losses have been in the first tri they told me to wait 3 cycles before trying again.  im not sure what you should ask. I just wanted to say im sorry for your loss and welcome to the board

  • i'm so sorry for your loss.  did they do an autopsy?  maybe that will provide some answers.  do you know why your baby passed away?  they will probably have you wait a few months to try again.  some say that your body needs as many months as you were pg to heal.  in your case about 20 weeks.  however it seems that every dr is different with their opinion.  do what feels right for you.
  • welcome to the board.. so sorry for you loss.. the ladies here are wonderful.. feel free to ask anything.. ((HUGS)))

  • So very sorry for your loss. Heartbreaking. I've had 2 very early losses. When you feel up to it ~~ make sure to be very proactive for you~ ask lots of questions, stay on your Drs & build some confidence for moving forward.
  • I am so sorry for your loss.  Definitely write down a list of your questions and bring it with you since for me going for my follow up appointment was emotional and would have made me blank if I had not had a written list to read to my doctor.

  • I wish I had more to offer other than saying how deeply sorry I am for your loss.  I know there are many women here with similar situations and I hope you stick around so they can help you through this.  This board has been a huge help for me.

  • I'm so sorry for your loss. I agree that it is a personal choice. Take the time you need to heal you mind and body and TTC when you are truly ready.

  • I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm sure you're in a state of panic, frustration, sorrow, and confusion. Unfortunately, it may take time for all your questions to be answered by the doctors. Until then, you can count on us for support. ((Hugs))
  • Oh, that is such a sad story.  I'm so sorry you had to go through that.  I have no experience with a late loss so I am afraid I have no advice for you.  I just wanted to chime in and give you (((BIG HUGS)))
