Good question.... never thought of that but I did think about life insurance so everyone would be taken care of if something happened! I guess anything can happen during childbirth or before for that matter. It's something to think about but nothing I am going to rush into doing tomorrow.
DH and I spoke about this a little bit ago. We have decided who we would like to raise the baby in that situation and now we just need to talk to them (my brother and his wife). We will have something written up for the security of our baby.
We made an official appointment with an attorney to draw up basic wills. We purchased extra life insurance a few months ago, so this is the next thing on our list. We still have to think of who would take the child, but other than that, we are set.
We've got paper work to fill out, but haven't done it yet. I just want to be sure that there is no question about who gets custody of our kids if something should happen. I don't want them in the care of my MIL at all, and I know she'd be the one to fight for it if it's not written down. My parents know our kids are going to my best friend and her husband because they are awesome parents to their daughter, they parent much like we do and they have the same beliefs we do.

Yes, all my legal documents are already drawn up, I just need a notary and to sign them. (This includes Living Will, and Power of Attorneys for everything from health/medical decisions to finances and property.) I really recommend taking care of these things if you haven't, just to make sure your family is taken care of.
