DD has not so I am just wondering about everyone else's LO! We are going to the lake tomorrow and it would be soooo easy to make her a PBJ so she can have it while we are out.
Just curious

Someone at his old daycare (supposedly a peanut free facility) ate something with peanuts and didn't wash their hands. They touched my DS and he immediately broke out in hives and started wheezing. ?

Wow! So glad he is okay!

Yes, my DS LOVES PB&J!! It's a very easy lunch when I don't know what else to give him!! I'd try it out at home first though...I gave him a little bit of peanut butter each night for about 4 days just to make sure he didn't have any allergies to it. Pedi okayed it at his 12 month visit.

Wow, so scary!! That may have been a blessing in disguise though...

We gave her a finger full a couple times in the last week or so with no reaction so today she had half jelly/half pbj sandwich for her birthday picnic at the lake! She says YUM (I think PB is DISGUSTING!)

yes. the easiest way to do it is make 2 pieces of toast, put a light layer of jelly on one side, pb on the other, smush together, then cut into strips. she gets less sticky this way and it makes for an easy breakfast!
Yes. I think I gave him some for the first time around 14 months or so. I let him try peanut butter for a few days and made sure we were at home to watch for any reactions. I have heard the Jiff is known to cause the least amount of reactions among those with peanut allergies. My friend's son's dad is an allergist and has pt's that have reactions to all other brands.
We're waiting until he's 2. He's played with jars of peanut butter before (taken them off the pantry shelf), so I doubt he's as allergic as pp's (Jamie####) son, but I do worry since he has eczema. I don't know why, I just have a feeling he'll be allergic to it, even though he hasn't really shown any food sensitivities. He's allergic to amoxicillin though.
Yep! It was one of the first PB foods I started giving him after we were certain he wasn't allergic. It is nice and packable, particularly if you don't load up on jelly. A little messy though, so bring extra wipes!
Re: Has your DC had PBJ?
Oh poor guy! How did you find out?
