Not really a surprise but I took the tests when he was in the shower. When he got out I handed them to him. The look of shock on his face was priceless, but he was so excited.
I told him I thought I was pregnant and he literally RAN to the pharmacy & bought a HPT. We both looked at the results together. He started jumping around like a little kid. I almost fainted lol.
I was holding my baby, Brandon, and just said, "Brandon, ask daddy if he would rather you have a baby sister or a baby brother" He looked shocked, and didn't believe me until I showed him both tests!
I am forever the hopeless romantic - we got our BFP on Father's Day - so I ensured we went to the beach that afternoon and I wrote it in the sand (had the stick in my pocket for back up)

These are so cute! My BFF is pg but hasnt told her DH yet (she just found out this morning, and for some freakish reason told me first?? lol) but she wanted to find out a cute way to do it.
I wish I was though! We're waiting another year or two though :-/
I gave him a card that read, "You're going to shine at your new job", and the inside, "As if you didn't shine enough already." I wrote, "I'm so proud of you baby... I love you!"
He opened that and was a little confused, so I handed him a box w/ the t-shirt I bought him in it. The shirt said, "Fatherhood - the toughest job you'll ever love". He got it as soon as he read the shirt.
I woke DH up because I tried to read the darn thing too early and the line was very faint. By the time his eyes focused the line was much darker. He then proceeded to get a bloody nose.

He was at work when I found out and I called him. I could tell he was grinning but then he goes, "Well I'm a little pissed I had to go through that SA!" It was pretty funny.
TTC #1 since 7/08
After 3 years, 2 losses, 3 rounds of IUI, and one round of IVF, we finally have our dream come true!
DS born 7/30/11
Shoved the stick in his face. I had tested the day before but didn't say anything as I wanted to wait a day and test again. When the second test came back positive immediately, I ran to him in the other room and shoved the test in his face. He had no clue what it was but he finally figured it out and yelled YEA!!!!
I put the test stick in a hot dog bun and put it in the oven just before DH was getting ready to make a pizza. I was standing there and when he opened the stove I said, "What's that--hey, there's a bun in our oven!"
DH had come home after PT to get some stuff together for something they were doing over at squadron. I had a HPT sitting on the floor, and on a whim I decided to go POAS since I needed to pee anyway. The line showed up immediately (and was darker than the control line) so I shouted downstairs for him to come see me. He thought something was wrong so he ran upstairs, I handed him the test, he gave me the side eye with a little smirk and said "What is this?" I broke down crying and was shaking really bad so he just kept kissing me and smiling. It was pretty dramatic.
I then proceeded to go to the store to get more tests which were all positive. I got my blood + yesterday.
I walked out of the toilet stall (in our bathroom) at 5:30 am while he was in the shower, holding the pee stick. I groggily said, "Well I'm definitely pregnant," threw the pee stick on the counter and started washing my hands.
Seriously? I was ecstatic, but I am a completely different person without coffee.

I found out the day before our 1 year anniversary so I told him I had an early anniversary present for him. I gave him a pair of boxer shorts that said "I Love My Pregnant Wife."
We have a double oven. I put dinner in the bottom and a hamburger bun in the top. He came home from work saying the food smelled delicious, what were we having? I told him that dinner was in the top (the bun was in the top). He opened it and gave me a confused look. I asked him "what is it". He replied "a bun", still very confused. I asked him "where is it". As soon as he said "in the oven" his eyes filled with tears.

Dh knew I was going to test that morning so we woke up and just laid there for a minute and I told him I was scared to go pee, and he says just do it! So I go test and crawl back in bed with him to wait the 3 min. He's timing it and when time was up he tells me and I asked if he wanted to go look. I'd already tested 3 times before and got BFNs. So he says sure and goes in the bathroom and picks it up. His face was priceless. He just said holy sh*t! and so I jumped up and ran to see it. 2 lines! We just kept smiling and kissing the whole morning.
I took a test and then ran out and got a couple more tests which all came up positive. My dh was at work for about 4 more hours and I wanted to think of a different way of telling him. I bought shorts for him earlier that day, so I took the tests and put them in a ziploc bag and placed it in the pocket of the shorts. When he got home I kept suggesting that he try on his new shorts, well he found the positive tests before he tried on the shorts.
I took a test when I got home from work and it was positive. When I went to pick him up from the train station, as I was driving, I told him that I took a HPT and that it was positive. He's reaction was "Cool". I told him that I was going to take a digital in the morning and if it was positive I was going to call the dr and make an appt.
I call the next day and told him that I I made an appt with the dr.

This pregnancy was a total surprise. I took a test bc I had one left from my last pg. I took it b/c my period didn't start that morning (LOL I over reacted). I took the test not thinking anything over it and ended up saying pregnant across the screen. I called dh and asked him, do you want to hear what I have to say now or when you get home from work? He said you're pregnant. I told him yeah....about 10 are you kiddings and no your nots, he finally believed me.
I wrapped up a onesie and the 2 pregnancy tests I had taken that afternoon and put it on the dinner table. While we were eating I told him that I had made him a gift that day. He thought the onesie was for our phantom baby until he saw the pee sticks.
I wrapped these things in a gift bag. ?At the bottom was a card from "the baby" saying he/she can't wait to meet DH and my EDD. ?My pregnancy tests were also in the envelope with the card. ?He was so ecstatic!?
I bought a bib that said I love daddy. I then tucked it in the laundry basket and made him help me fold the laundry. He found it and was a little confused, but then got it. Then I showed him the tests. It was great. He loved the bib.

I shoved the pee stick in his face and said, "I caved."
(I tested early after swearing I wouldn't.)
I called him on the phone, sobbing. But that's probably not what you're looking for ; )
But, congratulations and good luck!
