Infertility

Nosey Co worker!

Today my IVF meds got shipped to me- I had them shipped to my office, because I don't want them sitting on my doorstep in the 110 degree heat. I am in my office- opening the box and the new girl, who  barely knows me and has only been at our office for less than a month, starts asking me whats in the box.

I just said medicine- and she said- wow big box- whats it for?

So I said IVF, and left it at that. When did other peoples meds become someone elses business! Maybe I am being oversensative, but come on people please mind your own business- I mean she doesnt even know me!

Our Journey from two to three! 3 IUI's, 2 IVF's, decided to move to foster/adopt. 12/24/2009 Baby C born, 2/1/2010 placed with us, 5/17/2011 Adoption final- we are finally a forever family! Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

Re: Nosey Co worker!

  • I'd give her the dirtiest look I could master, and in the coldest tone of voice possible, say, "Excuse me?"  And then, turn around and keep doing what I was doing.

    It's none of her business!!!

  • I had my triggers shipped to me at work too. Not as big of a box but one coworker (male) noticed the bright orange refridgerate sticker and of course was like what IS THAT?!?! I told him it was a mini frozen pizza as a joke but he believed it. Oh well, he's kind of like a kid brother in the office so I would have told him the truth if he didn't believe me :o)

  • Don't take this the wrong way, as I'm just jealous, not flaming - That's really cool that you ladies all work in environments where it's OK to "come out of the closet" about doing IF treatments... I can't picture that going over too well where I work if people had any idea what we're doing.

So rude of your coworker to ask though.

  • Uggg... People need to mind their own business!

  • When I did Repronex several yrs ago, I had all my meds shipped to the office.  I only told my immediate boss what was going on.  Another lady I worked with confided in a mutual friend that she knew something was going on with me because I got FedEx shipments all the time.  She was convinced that I had cancer and was going to die.  Confused
  • Aren't co-workers SO annoying? I had mine shipped to work once, and this lady said something along the lines of "oh I hope something good is in that box".. totally digging. It sounds innocent enough but this was from the nosiest co-worker I have, so I know she was dying to know! Ugh.
