Baby Wearing - What are you getting?

Any recommendations on what kind you are getting?  I am a little lost and confused...

I would like to put one on my registry but unsure which one works the best.  I tend to have back problems so I would not mind spending a little more to get something that supports the back well.

Re: Baby Wearing - What are you getting?

  • Ergo is the best carrier for back problems, IMO.  I'm able to carry DD in it easily with absolutely no back pain.

  • I have heard wonderful things about Moby and Babyhawk. I'm leaning towards a Moby because of cost.
  • I'm doing the Moby.
  • I will be getting the moby for when she is an infant...since she will be born in the fall/winter, it won't be too hot.  Then when spring comes, I will get a baby bjorn.
  • I'm getting a Moby for the winter/newborn stage. I have a Bjorn with the lumbar support that works great. I hear great things about the Ergo. I might have gone with the Ergo or Becco if I didn't already have the Bjorn. I used to be very weak but never had problems carrying my huge super chunk of a son in it. The Ergo and Becco are only face in carriers. My son preferred to look out at the world once he was big enough to forward face.
  • The Moby was a lifesaver during DS newborn stage. I will be using that, but will probably also get something a little easier to use for public outings.

  • I'm getting an Ergo. My SIL has back problems and she loves hers! Plus that one can hold up to 40 lbs and has an infant attachment too.

  • I really want a Moby, and we got a Baby Bjorn, but I've been toying with returning it and getting an Ergo.  We'll see how it goes.

I really want a Moby and an Ergo. I just hope my baby likes being worn, because I plan to do it a lot.

  • I'm going to try a Moby.  I don't think I have the strength to wear a baby... I have no upper body strength, LOL.  But, I will try it!
  • Just ordered my Moby on BabySteals.com.?
  • I think it depends on what you prefer in general. I know some people who like certain kinds and other people (or their babies) don't care for those and like other ones.
  • I didn't wear DS much becuase when he came home to 4 months old he had a monitor on so I couldn't wear him. I did use the baby bjorn with his but never the sling I have, don't know what the name of it is and I never could get it on right.

I bought a moby for this baby and I just hope I can figure out how to use it. All the months on the Baby boards always raved about it.

  • I am getting a moby, and a Lillebaby carrier. I have heard that the Lillebaby is just as good as the Ergo, and baby can face out. (In the Ergo, baby can only face you)
