2nd Trimester

Registering

DH and I our expecting our first child in November and we are having a girl.  We are going this weekend to register and I was wondering if most of you register for items that are for girls (stroller, carseat, playard, highchair, etc.)  I'm hesitant on doing it in case next time we having a boy, but DH doesn't want our daughter to have unisex stuff.  What would you do? TIA

Hope you are all having a good day!

Re: Registering

  • for the big things i would always register with neutral colors.. this way you can use it for your second child (in case it's the opposite sex).

Also, most of the "BIG" things are really cute in neutral .  and neutral doesnt have to be green.. they have pretty browns and cream colors

  • Big stuff  (pnp, travel system, high chair, swing) neutral.

I can't see buying everything pink if you plan to have more children. Throw a pink blanket in the stroller! But buying another whole system later on seems ridiculous.

  • For most of the big stuff (pnp, highchair, carseat, stroller), there is a TON of unisex stuff.  I'm pretty sure they do that b/c most people only have one shower for the first baby and people buy for subsequent children.

I've had 2 babies already (now onto #3), and even though they were both girls, I'm glad I got unisex.  All that frilly stuff bothers me, but to each his own.

    Have fun!!!

  • I personally would get neutral strollers, car seats, etc. in case you plan on having more children in the future.

The items I'd get gender specific would be bedding, towels, clothing, etc.

  • We have been fortunate and had some things given to us, and would like some gender related things, and thankfully on our highchair the cover is removable and replaceable. ?I know a lot of carseat covers, play yard covers are the same. ?Bright fun colors are also a good way to go, because it be can girly without being brown or grey!

    ?Have fun registering?

  • All of our big items (stroller, car seat, high chair, swing) are gender neutral and I am so happy we went this route.  We will be able to reuse everything from DS.

  • What's wrong with unisex stuff?

We plan to register for mostly gender-neutral items. I'm not big into pink, and neither is DH.

  • We are having our first baby, a boy, in November. I am going to register for all gender neutral things (well the big things). I know that this is not going to be my only child, and I don't want to get big things that are all blue and boyish, and then have a girl and have to get all new stuff.
