We just got back from the 2 mo visit and found out DS has torticollis How soon have you seen results with physical therapy at home, and how often do you stretch their neck each day? TIA

DS has it. We got results from PT and the stretches within weeks. He now holds his head at midline and on the other side with no problem. It's still a bit flat but improving every week.?
I am a physical therapist. My other PT friends with kids that had this would stretch their child daily with small reps (to avoid making the baby too cranky) but would do it multiple times per day. They all had success within a few weeks. Torticollis is very easily corrected and you shouldn't worry!!
Our DD does. Diagnosed two weeks ago and started physical therapy last week. We do the stretches after every feeding, except at 4 a.m., so 6 - 7 times a day. I swear after just one week she's already getting better at looking left and holding her midline. We'll find out tomorrow if that's just wishful thinking.
DD has it as well. We've been going to PT since she was a month old. We did the stretches at every diaper change. We also upped her tummy time by A LOT. Her neck muscles have improved ten fold and I credit the tummy time.
Now we just go back every 3 weeks for them to monitor her flat spot.
My first child had it. Honestly, it took quite a while for it to go away, even with PT. She was in weekly PT from 3-11 months. But, it did go away and she is 100% fine now. We did the stretches after every diaper change and worked a lot on tummy time, placing toys on her nonpreferred side, etc. It came back each time she was learning a new skill (sitting, crawling, walking, running) and even now, at 26 months, she still tilts if she's doing something hard. Torticollis is really easily corrected with PT--just be good about doing the stretches and keep him off his head as much as possible (limit time in stroller, bouncy, carseat, etc) to prevent a flat spot which kids with tort are more likely to get.
