Identical twin mamas I want to apologize for being the annoying person who

Always asks which twin is which.    I'm sure you get that all the time.   One of my sister's friends has 1yr old identical twins (at least they look identical to me) girls.   I've only seen them 3 or 4 times (1 week, 3 months, 9 months and 1 yr)  each time I see them, I always ask which is which.   I really try to see if I can figure out who is who, but it's tough.   Maybe when they get older it will be easier (maybe one of them will be a tomboy who loves to climb trees and play sports and get dirty and the other will be a girly girl).

  • my mom still can't tell my boys apart. in fact, most people can't. even when i tell them distinguishing marks, they forget who has what mark. i guess it's just that much harder with three....

anyway, as they've gotten older, they have started looking different, at least to me. so that helps. :)

  • I try to dress my girls in different outfits when we visit family or friends b/c they tell me that it helps them tell the girls apart.  But with 3 that look the same, it is still difficult.  I had all three in different tops on Saturday and their aunts kept calling them by the wrong names.
  • My identical girls aren't here yet, so I can't say I won't be annoyed by comments I'm not getting, but I worry about telling them apart myself, so I can completely understand why someone that doesn't see the babies that often can't tell them apart.
  • I am not an ID mommy and my twins aren't even here, but I think to me, I would rather have someone ask- indicating that they care- rather than just call both "Sweetie."

  • I try to dress mine a little differently too.  MIL always asks which is which - but she really does try to figure it out.  We also keep Sophia's big toe painted red....it helps people know who's who without feeling bad for asking us.  If we have a choice of colors for outfits, we dress Danielle in pink.  I try to put different colored bows and ponytail holders in their hair too to help people out.  It also helps us from a distance.

Honestly, it doesn't bother me when people ask me who's who.  Sometimes I have to look twice to be sure I know.  It's easier to tell ours apart when they are together as opposed to across the room from each other.

  • Don't worry... we get used to it! My sister and my FIL can't tell them apart, and they see the girls quite often.  And, my IDs don't even look that much alike, in my opinion!
  • It doesn't bother me, I just laugh and tell them which one they are looking at. I then tell them the little differences to look for and they get it for the most part at least the family that is around a lot. I like dressing them the same for now so everyone will have to figure out for themselves how to tell them apart, besides that's part of the fun in having ID twins!!

    BTW.....no apology needed here!

P.S. your little guy is really cute.
