Pregnant after a Loss

Got 2nd betas, had ultrasound..so scared.

So i got my 2nd betas back and they were 3615 up from 506 6 days ago. So doubling time about 50 hours. I told dr. i had cramps so they had me come in for an ultrasound. I am only measuring 4 weeks and i thought i was 4 weeks 6 days. There is a sac measuring 4 weeks and thats all that they can see right now. Ultrasound tech said looks good for 4 weeks.....well, my head and heart remember my m/c at 6 weeks in March. Started bleeding at 6 weeks and all they saw was a sac measuring 4 weeks.

I am soooo terrified the same thing is happening and baby has stopped growing. Dr. called and i missed her call, and i am waiting to hear from her. She was not in the office when i had ultrasound done. My family keeps saying its sooo early, its fine. When my head is saying its happening again and it has stopped growing. Im balling.

  • Think positive.  I think I measured 4 days behind my first US and all they saw was a sac.  Next U/s they had a hb.  Every PG is different!

    Were you scared?

  • I had three early u/s's. I measured a week behind at my first u/s (measured 4 should have been 5- and we only saw a sac)...by my next u/s I measured 5 days behind, and by my third one I measured right on time with a nice, strong h/b!!! With early u/s's as long as you are 9 days +/-, you are fine! :-)

  • U/s is not an exact science, esp. when the baby is so tiny (smaller than a grain of rice).  It's also common to measure a few days off, due to poss. early or late ovulation & implantation.

Your numbers are going up though, which is a very good sign.

Praying you'll have peace and good news from the doc.

Thank you for sharing your story. I think if my last m/c did not end up with a sac only measuring 4 weeks i would be taking this differently. Please please please let my story end up like yours!

  • Hang in there hun. Try to stay positive!

  • I measured 5 days behind at my first u/s (thought I was 5 weeks, measured 4w3d and I KNEW when I ovulated). ?After that baby pretty much stayed the same but grew consistently. ?I was terrified because my m/c was like yours - should have been six weeks, measured 4w2d. ?Hang in there!

  • Sometimes I wish we didnt have so much technology. All it does is freak us out and make us worry. I am wishing you the best! Keep us posted!
  • I know it's impossible not to worry, but try to just take it one day at a time. You won't be able to forget what happened last time but try to do what you can to think positive and envision and healthy pregnancy. And never be afraid to call your dr.- my OB and the u/s tech keep reassuring me that after 2 losses, I have every right to be neurotic (not that I am, but it's still nice to hear that I have license to be if I need to). Best wishes and I hope it all goes well.

I measured behind at my first ultrasound. I broke down in the OB office and scared the RN. I really think that a lot of it depends on the tech - there are two techs in my OB's office and one consistently seems to measure "small."

((HUGS)) I hope everything works out ok!
